Who is affected: all residents of Ukraine and territorial communities
Summary:
- the cultural sector, cultural institutions, and cultural services will not be subject to current social and cultural standards. The distinction between social and cultural services will be introduced
- the following standards for culture will be defined:
- minimum standards for providing all residents of Ukraine with cultural services
- standards for the maintenance of cultural institutions and cultural educational establishments that provide access to basic cultural services.
Why this is important: the bill will help territorial communities to provide quality and accessible cultural and social services to the population.
What is right:
- delineation of cultural and social institutions and services
- introduction of the minimum standards for providing the population with cultural services.
Additional information: cooperation with territorial communities is one of the top priorities of the Centre of United Actions. How do we help them develop? In cooperation with local councils, we have worked on improving cultural services in several communities — in Liubeshiv and Buchach, for example.
