Who is affected: Ukrainian citizens, book publishers, and book distributors 

Summary: 

  • introduces a state subsidy to reimburse expenses for renting or sub-renting real estate (buildings, structures, premises, or their parts) used as bookstores 
  • the subsidy will be provided in the amount of the quarterly rent, but cannot exceed 20% of the total value of sold books or the maximum reimbursement amount established by law 
  • clarifies the principles for implementing the annual natural aid program in the form of a certificate for purchasing books 
  • state assistance for purchasing books will be provided via Diia 
  • state assistance for purchasing books will be granted: 
    • for a year after a Ukrainian citizen turns 18 
    • to one of the parents or other legal representatives of the child for a year after the child is born. 

What is right: 

  • state subsidy and state assistance for purchasing books will support the book publishing industry in Ukraine.
