Who is affected: individuals and legal entities under sanctions, and all interested parties
Summary:
- the State Register of Sanctions started to operate. It includes:
- data on the subjects under sanctions. For individuals: full name, date of birth, citizenship, residence, documents, reasons for being included in the register, etc. For legal entities: name, EDRPOU code (from the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations of Ukraine), location, reasons for being included in the register
- type of sanctions — entry ban, blocking of assets, license cancellation, etc.
- period when sanctions are applied
- reasons for the imposition of sanctions
- entries are included in the register after the relevant decisions are made by the NSDC or Ukrainian courts
- the register is maintained by the NSDC secretariat.
What is right:
- transparency: free access (except for special cases indicated by law) to the list of sanctioned individuals and legal entities for everyone
- relevance: the register is kept online, and its data is updated promptly after a decision by the NSDC or court is published
- availability: it is possible to obtain an official extract with information about an individual or legal entity under sanctions.
Background information: on July 13, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft bill on the creation of the State Register of Sanctions.
