Who is affected: schoolchildren (4.23 million), their parents, teachers (about 450 thousand), founders of secondary education establishments, oblast military administrations, and the Kyiv city military administration. 

Summary of the resolution: 

• the next school year in secondary education establishments will start on September 1, 2023, and end on June 28, 2024 
• oblast military administrations and the Kyiv city military administration together with the founders of secondary education establishments are ordered to prepare for the start of the school year taking into account the security situation on the ground. 

What is right: 

• schoolchildren will be able to receive secondary education despite the war and parties responsible for their safety will take into account the security situation when preparing for the start of the school year.
