Cosponsors: a group of 60 MPs

Status: preparations for consideration

Who is affected: service members, law enforcement officers, state and municipal medical establishments, and medical establishments of law enforcement agencies

Summary of the bill:

  • it will be allowed to establish military medical commissions at medical establishments of law enforcement agencies
  • it will be allowed to establish military medical commissions at state and municipal medical establishments
  • military medical commissions created at state and municipal medical establishments and medical establishments of law enforcement agencies will be authorized to conduct military medical examinations and determine:
    • whether a person is fit for military service
    • whether diseases, injuries, and traumas were received by a person in the line of military duty
    • whether a service member is in need of rehabilitation or other medical assistance.

What’s right:

  • service members and law enforcement officers will have better access to military medical commissions. There will be much less red tape that now makes it difficult to obtain medical conclusions from military medical commissions
  • military medical commissions at territorial centers of staffing and social support will have less workload.
