Cabinet resolution #1134 of October 1, 2024
Status: in effect since October 2, 2024
Decision-maker: the Cabinet of Ministers
Who is affected: citizens of Ukraine, service members, persons subject to military service, reservists, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military units, and territorial recruitment and social support centers
Summary: the deadline for reporting to territorial recruitment centers is reduced:
- after receiving a conscription notice, a person registered in an oblast center must report to the territorial recruitment center within 7 days
- after receiving a conscription notice, persons registered in other types of localities must report to their territorial recruitment centers within 10 days.
What is right: shorter deadlines will allow for more efficient staffing of army units. This is particularly important during war.
What is wrong: persons subject to military service will have less time to prepare the required documents, resolve personal issues, and mentally prepare for visiting the recruitment center. If a person is employed, the employer will have to quickly find a replacement.
Alternative solution: it is necessary to consider the interests of citizens and facilitate the most comfortable conditions for them to fulfill their military duty to minimize negative social consequences.
