Who is affected: sanctioned individuals and legal entities, users of software products under sanctions 

Summary: 

  • the Cabinet wants to prohibit the use of software originating from foreign states subject to sanctions 
  • software products will be prohibited if they: 
    • are issued by individuals or legal entities from foreign states subject to sanctions 
    • are issued using the source or object code of sanctioned software products 
    • are developed by individuals who are under sanctions, regardless of their country of origin 
  • access to electronic information resources on the Internet owned or controlled by individuals or organizations subject to sanctions will also be prohibited. This applies to websites, web pages, electronic communication networks, and information and communication systems. 

What is right: more strict sanctions will minimize unauthorized access to state information resources and prevent cyberthreats.
