Who is affected: natural persons under sanctions and the international community
Summary of the decree:
- sanctions are imposed against 178 natural persons with Russian citizenship. Among them are judges of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation headed by Valery Zorkin, as well as judges who betrayed their oath to Ukraine
- the following restrictions are applied: blocking of assets, prohibition on capital withdrawal from Ukraine, prohibition to participate in privatization, travel to Ukraine, buy land, and others
- sanctions against these natural persons are imposed for 5 years.
What is right: the President is consistent in his policy of imposing sanctions against Russians.
What is wrong: 81 people on this list also have Ukrainian citizenship in addition to Russian citizenship. However, according to the Law on Sanctions, the state is not supposed to apply sanctions against Ukrainian citizens.
