Cabinet resolution #104 of January 30, 2024
Decision-maker: Cabinet of Ministers
Status: in effect since January 30, 2024
Who is affected: veterans and their families, educational establishments participating in the pilot project, local self-government bodies, physical education and sports education establishments, hospitals, and sanatoriums
Summary:
- war veterans are entitled to free education in vocational, secondary, and higher education establishments participating in the pilot project
- there are plans to develop and introduce specialized sports and rehabilitation programs for war veterans
- sports competitions, tournaments, and championships are introduced for veterans at national, regional, and local levels
- project implementation period is from February 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.
What is right:
- will help war veterans to adapt to civilian life
- will contribute to improving the social and psychological state of veterans
- will help to increase veterans’ competitiveness in the labor market.
What is wrong:
- the pilot project is not part of a comprehensive veteran policy. The latter is still under development, so the state still does not have a comprehensive approach to the reintegration of veterans into civilian life.
Alternative solution:
- it is necessary to ensure the development and implementation of a comprehensive and effective state veteran policy.
