Who is affected: service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military units, and law enforcement agencies
Summary of the bill: the list of reasons for military discharge while martial law is in effect will be extended: soldiers with disabilities of group I or II will be allowed not to continue military service.
What is wrong: health condition is already included in the list of reasons for military discharge. In particular, service members can be subject to medical discharge based on the conclusion (decision) issued by a military medical commission confirming that they are unfit for military service and thus should be removed from the military draft.
Alternative solution: the Verkhovna Rada should audit current reasons for military discharge and leave only those that are truly justified.
