Who is affected: service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service

Summary:
- a Unified State Register of Service Members (hereinafter — Service Members Register) will be created in order to:
- create a single database of military personnel
- assign a unique electronic identifier to each service member, which they will use to receive administrative and social services
- the Ministry of Defense will collect and store data about service members of the Armed Forces and the State Special Transport Service in the Service Members Register. The Ministry of Defense will also be responsible for updating, protecting, and anonymizing this information
- the Service Members Register will include the following data:
- surname, first name, patronymic (if available)
- gender
- date of birth
- taxpayer identification number
- unique record number in the Unified State Demographic Register (if available)
- service member status (registered, removed from the register)
- unique electronic identifier of the service member
- data about individuals who hold (or held) positions in intelligence agencies and subordinate military units will be established by joint orders of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the intelligence agencies of Ukraine
- information in the Service Members Register will be stored for 75 years.
What is right:
- the functioning of a unified database of service members with unique electronic identifiers will reduce the time and effort needed to process documents and simplify the receipt of administrative and social services for service members and their families
- transparent operation of the Service Members Register will reduce corruption risks
- the functioning of the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Military Obligated Persons, and Reservists will be also improved.
