Funding for water shipments to mitigate the results of the destruction of the Kakhovka dam

Decision-maker: the Cabinet of Ministers 

Who is affected: residents of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts. 

Summary of the order: 

• to prevent a critical water deficit in regions affected by the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, ₴845 million from the government budget are allocated to fund water shipments to these regions: 
  • Dnipropetrovsk Oblast State Administration will receive ₴160 million 
  • Zaporizhzhia Oblast State Administration — ₴26 million 
  • Mykolaiv Oblast State Administration — ₴275 million 
  • Kherson Oblast State Administration — ₴385 million 
• water shipments for these regions will be funded by the reserve fund of the government budget. 

What is right: 

• the Cabinet promptly responds to the water supply crisis in the regions dependent on the water from the Kakhovka reservoir, which was destroyed by Russia 
• people affected by the crisis will get at least the minimum amount of water to drink and use for household purposes.
