Who is affected: state bodies, local governments, state and municipal enterprises, institutions, and organizations
Summary:
- the order introduces measures to stabilize the operation of the energy sector of Ukraine
- ministries and other central executive bodies, oblast and Kyiv city state administrations, as well as their subordinate enterprises, institutions, and organizations have to stop using air conditioners, external lighting of buildings and adjacent territories until December 31, 2024
- the same recommendations apply to the apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada, the Office of the President, the State Management of Affairs, judicial bodies, the Office of the Prosecutor General, law enforcement agencies, other state bodies, the National Bank, the National Academy of Sciences, branches of academies of science, local governments, as well as their subordinate enterprises, institutions, and organizations
- local governments are recommended to limit the lighting of streets and parks
- these restrictions do not apply to healthcare facilities, enterprises where air conditioning is part of the technological process, and traffic lights.
What is right: considering the deficit, energy conservation will allow for a more equitable distribution of available resources among consumers. Additionally, energy conservation will help reduce the load on the network, decreasing the likelihood of emergency and planned outages.
