Who is affected: foreigners whose property has been destroyed or damaged as a result of the military aggression of the Russian Federation
Summary: foreigners conducting business in Ukraine and suffering direct material losses as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation will be able to receive compensation for damaged or destroyed real estate.
What is right: foreigners working and paying taxes in Ukraine will be able to receive compensation for property damaged as a result of the aggression of the Russian Federation. They will be able to receive compensation on par with Ukrainian citizens.
Background information: on March 17, 2023, the President of Ukraine signed a law on compensation for damaged and destroyed housing. We described the shortcomings of this law here. On May 10, the procedure for providing compensation for damaged housing under the e-Recovery program started.
