Who is affected: service members, police officers (140 thousand persons), and employees of the civil protection service (74 thousand persons).

Summary of the bill:

· if police officers or employees of the civil protection service are detained as a result of armed aggression, taken hostage, or missing under special circumstances, they continue to receive their compensation, including:

– salary

– rank pay

– seniority bonus

– other types of additional monthly payments

· families of these police officers and employees of the civil protection service will be paid a monthly allowance under the procedure and in the amount set by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine

· if police officers or employees of the civil protection service voluntarily surrender or abandon their service, they will not receive any compensation

· in case of dismissal, service members and police officers, in addition to the compensation for unused vacation, will also receive the following additional payments:

– seniority bonus based on annual basic and annual additional vacation

– additional vacation for service members who have underage children or adult children with a group I/subgroup A lifelong disability

– additional vacation

· if a service member or police officer dies, their compensation is paid to family members

· the bill sets the amount of one-time financial assistance after discharge from military service.

What is right: service members and police officers will have better social security.
