Who is affected: children deprived of parental care, children left without parental care, social security agencies, executive bodies of territorial communities, and administrative services centers
Summary:
- temporary financial assistance will be paid to children who are deprived of or left without parental care and who have been temporarily placed with a family of relatives, acquaintances, a foster family, or in a family-type children’s facility. The assistance will be provided under the “Child is not alone” program
- the amount of the allowance in 2024 is:
- for children up to 6 years — 6,407 UAH
- for children aged 6 to 18 — 7,990 UAH
- for children with disabilities up to 6 years — 8,970 UAH
- for children with disabilities aged 6 to 18 — 11,186 UAH
- the following procedure for the assignment and distribution of temporary assistance is approved:
- the funding is provided from the government budget
- the assistance is assigned to people who have temporarily accommodated a child who is deprived of or left without parental care and who permanently reside in Ukraine (except for persons living in temporarily occupied territories)
- the assistance is assigned for the period the child stays in a family
- an application for assignment of such assistance can be submitted to social protection agencies, the administrative services centers, or local executive bodies within 6 months after a child is placed in a family.
What is right: children deprived of parental care will get better social security.
