In December, the President signed several laws to strengthen the independence of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, increase the staff of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, expand the powers of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention, and protect the rights of national minorities, war veterans, and owners of housing destroyed by war.

How will the fight against corruption change?
On November 8, 2023, the European Commission published a report on Ukraine. Among other things, it recommended to adopt a law increasing the number of NABU employees and expanding the powers of the NACP. The Cabinet promptly drafted, the Parliament adopted, and the President signed these laws on December 8.
