Summary:
- the bill approves the title and provisions of the Law on the Ratification of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, as well as the provisions of the laws On National Minorities (Communities) of Ukraine and On Media with the updated official translation of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages
- in Ukraine, the provisions of the Charter will apply to the following languages: Belarusian, Bulgarian, Gagauz, Crimean Tatar, Greek, German, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, Hungarian, Czech, and Hebrew.
What is right:
- the bill updates the list of languages that will receive support and protection, as provided by the Charter. Czech language will be added, Russian and Moldovan languages will be excluded.
