Draft bill #11390 of July 1, 2024

Cosponsors: 7 MPs from the Servant of the People faction with Taras Tarasenko as the first signatory

Status: sent for review to the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Social Policy and Veterans’ Rights Protection

Who is affected: veterans, state, municipal, and private enterprises, establishments, and organizations

Summary: if an employee is mobilized while working under a labor contract, the period of their military service and reintegration into civilian life is not counted towards the term of the labor contract.

Why this is important: currently, employers can dismiss a mobilized employee if the term of a labor contract expires during their military service. The proposed draft bill stipulates that the time an individual spends in service will be added to the labor contract. For example, one year of service will entail the extension of the labor contract by one year.

What is right: the bill strengthens the protection of mobilized employees.
