{"id":15295,"date":"2025-01-14T15:00:41","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T13:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/centreua.org\/?p=15295"},"modified":"2025-01-14T15:00:41","modified_gmt":"2025-01-14T13:00:41","slug":"assistance-to-veterans-for-sports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/centreua.org\/en\/monitoring\/assistance-to-veterans-for-sports\/","title":{"rendered":"Assistance to veterans for sports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Cabinet resolution #<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/zakon.rada.gov.ua\/laws\/show\/2-2025-%D0%BF#Text\"><b>2<\/b><\/a><b> of January 3, 2025<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Decision-maker: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Cabinet of Ministers<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Status: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will come into effect on January 15, 2025<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Who is affected:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> combat veterans and persons with disabilities caused by war, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Summary:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">once a quarter, combat veterans and persons with disabilities caused by war will be eligible to receive state assistance of 1,500 UAH for sports activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to apply, a person has to have:<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">18 years of age or more<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">taxpayer identification number<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the status of a combat veteran or a person with a disability caused by war<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the application for assistance is to be submitted via the Diia app. It will be checked with the Unified State Register of War Veterans to obtain\/verify information about the applicant\u2019s status as a combat veteran or person with a disability caused by war<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">it will be allowed to use the money only for sports services during the quarter it is allocated<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the project is experimental and will last 2 years.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>What is right:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">conditions are being created for the mental and physical recovery of combat veterans and people with disabilities caused by war by promoting their rehabilitation and social reintegration through sports.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What is wrong:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">only physical recovery and sports rehabilitation are insufficient for the full adaptation of veterans, as their needs are much more diverse. A comprehensive state policy for veterans is necessary for effective support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Alternative solution:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to develop a comprehensive veteran policy to ensure social protection, rehabilitation, and support for veterans and their families. It should encompass a wide range of issues, including medical assistance, psychological support, social adaptation, employment, and education.
